Our Signature Curriculum

Our signature online curriculum is designed for teenagers and young adults. Each course consists of 40 minutes of instructional time, activities and section quizzes to review the presented material. Course topics include:

Economic Systems

Introduces key economic principles and how economic assumptions may drive economic choices.

Career and Income

Students learn about maximizing their most valuable resource, themselves. This course provides an overview of return on investment (ROI) modeling and demonstrates how it can be used to consider the costs and benefits of attending college.

Income Tax

Students learn how income is taxed in the United States, how income taxes are calculated and how to pay their fair share.

Banking

In this course, students learn about the functions of the nation’s central bank, The Federal Reserve, and how decisions made by this central bank affect the lives of individuals. The course includes a review of typical banking services.

Spending and Budgeting

Spending influences are everywhere! In this course, students are introduced to behavioral economics and how spending decisions are shaped. Students learn budgeting and how to translate financial goals into budgeting priorities.

Using Credit

Students learn how credit works with a detailed examination of credit cards and student loans. Students gain an understanding of credit reporting, credit scores, and the potential consequences of mismanaged debt.

Saving and Investing

Students learn about various savings vehicles and how to calculate simple and compound interest. The course will explore essential investing terminology, basic investment vehicles and illustrate the value of starting early.

Home Finance

Students gain an understanding of key considerations for residential home ownership. The course illustrates how to analyze income and expenses when estimating available financial resources for making a home purchase.

Protecting and Insuring

Financial risk is a reality for all of us. In this course, students will learn common risks and how to manage them. Students will explore how private and social insurance work, what these cost and what they may protect. The course also examines current cyber threats and risks as well as how to manage your personal brand. 

Curriculum for Kids

Kids, Keep Your Cash Curriculum™ is designed for upper elementary and middle school students with an interest in personal finance. Each course consists of 40 minutes of instructional time, activities and section quizzes to review the presented material. This course is an age appropriate version of the Financy Curriculum. Course topics include:

Course 1 – Overview: Key Terms from Economics

Before students master personal finance, they need to become economic thinkers. 

Course 3 – Paying Your Fair Share: Income Taxes

Students will be introduced to how income is taxed in the United States and how to pay their fair shares. 

Course 5 – Budgeting

Students gain an understanding of typical budget elements how to translate financial goals into budgeting priorities.

Course 7 – Saving and Investing

Students learn about various savings vehicles and how to calculate simple and compound interest. The course will explore investing terminology, basic investment vehicles and illustrate the potential financial value of starting early.

Course 2 – You are a Resource: Career and Income

Students will learn about maximizing their most valuable resource – themselves. 

Course 4 – Spending and Goal Setting

Students will understand that every spending decision has an opportunity cost. The course focuses on spending influences and how to set goals.

Course 6 – How Credit Works and What Credit Costs

Students learn how credit works with a focus on credit cards. 

Course 8 – Protecting and Insuring

Students will gain an understanding of common risks and risk management. Insurance is introduced and strategies for avoiding cyber threats and protecting your personal brand are also covered.
